Court Appointed Advocate--We speak for the child!
CASA of Western Maryland (Court Appointed Special Advocates) speaks for the child involved with the MD Courts and Social Services due to family abuse and/or neglect. Volunteer Advocates are specially trained to be the voice of the child for court cases and meet face-to-face with a child at least once a month. In order to make the most informed recommendations on behalf of the child, the Advocate speaks with medical, educational, legal, and personal representatives of the child in order to submit a Court Report. This is a long-term volunteer opportunity; volunteers are asked to commit to at least one year of service to a child.
