About Dr. Pevzner:
Dr. Mikhail Pevzner is a Professor of Accounting and the Director of Graduate Programs at the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business, where he has been teaching since 2013.
He oversees the M.S. in AI for Business Program, the first of its kind in the State of Maryland, as well as the newly launched MBA program at the University of Baltimore’s Hagerstown Center, part of the University System of Maryland. Additionally, he is an adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, an expert economist for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and an economic expert at the litigation consulting firm Employstats.
Dr. Pevzner has also held academic positions at Virginia Tech and George Mason University. He earned his PhD in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) in 2007.
About Jason:
Jason Michael Perry is a Fractional Chief AI Officer and a seasoned executive and thought leader with over two decades of experience. He serves on the marketing committee and board of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, is a Senior Advisor of Corporate Innovation and Technology for the World Trade Center Institute, and Entrepreneur in Residence for The University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business.
Jason is the author of the acclaimed free weekly newsletter “Thoughts on Tech & Things” and hosts a bi-weekly podcast in partnership with Technical.ly, a premier news organization connecting technologists, entrepreneurs, and other professionals invested in their local communities. His upcoming book defining the role of the Chief AI Officer is set for release in early 2025.
In 2023, Jason led the award-winning event “AI in A Minor,” in partnership with the Greater Baltimore Committee, Amazon Web Services, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, to perform AI-composed music in the styles of Mozart and Philip Glass.
As a technologist and developer, Jason has served as an executive in both the public and private sectors, leading projects in emerging tech solutions for organizations ranging from startups and government entities to Fortune 50 companies.
About Dean:
Dean Merritt, Esq. is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and after clerking for Judge M. Brooke Murdock in the Baltimore City Circuit Court he has spent his career in Legal Technology and Sales. He is now Vice President of Sales at Mindgrub Technologies in Baltimore where he works with businesses building and leveraging digital solutions including AI. Besides working with clients on building mobile apps, web apps and websites, he helped lead Mindgrub and BSO’s “AI in Action” event last summer where the team created AI generated sheet music for the BSO’s musician’s to play.
Dean graduated from Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Maryland. He received a B.A. from Villanova University where he majored in Psychology and minored in Business; he was the Photography Editor for the school newspaper and magazine. As mentioned above, he received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Baltimore where he received the Dean’s Citation for Service and was Executive Editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal.
Dean is a licensed real estate Broker and has experience in both commercial and residential real estate transactions. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three sons, coaching and attending their sporting events as well as playing pickup basketball.
