About Gary:

Gary L. Ryan, Jr., is responsible for Sales and Marketing for ADV Pharmacy Group with locations in Indiana, Pa, Gilbertsville, PA and Hagerstown Maryland. 

Gary has over 28 years of experience in Human Resources and Sales Development. Gary grew up with a drive to help others and to really connect with a community. He began his career in 1989 as a Paramedic with Citizens’ Ambulance Service in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Gary also served in the US ARMY National Guard as A Military Medical Specialist. While serving in the ARMY National Guard and as a Paramedic Gary simultaneously put himself through school. 

After graduation, he decided to help others in a different way and in a different community. He joined the HRH, Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Company corporate team in 1998. As the Manager of Recruiting and Employee Development for HRH, Gary spearheaded several initiatives aimed at Recruiting and Employee Development including implementing an “E-cruiting” program resulting in a company wide savings of over 3.5 million dollars, a Performance Assessment and Development Program, an Integrity Training Program, and the HRH On-Line Corporate University. In addition, Gary was a Client Associate with Miller Heiman and facilitated the Strategic and Conceptual Sales Training programs for HRH. He was also recognized throughout HRH for his honesty, confidence and diplomacy in handling delicate Human Resource issues. 

In 2005, he took the next step in his career by joining Anderson & Strudwick as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. With the company in an aggressive growth mode, Gary spearheaded an internal communications program, developed a recruiting program and implemented new company policy aimed at promoting a respectful workplace. In addition, Gary served as the principal liaison with legal counsel regarding employment related matters. 

In March 2007, Gary focused his attention on developing his consulting practice doing business as GLR Advantages. After decades of Consulting Gary joined ADV Pharmacy Group in 2022 as the Sales Manager and Consultant as his current employer.
