Spend an hour with us getting to know Dan Spedden, President of Visit Hagerstown, Washington County's Convention & Visitors Bureau!

Dan will join us to discuss his career experiences, what he's learned along the way, and advice for a young professional. Come prepared to listen, learn, and ask questions, all while getting to know a local leader that has been at the forefront of our community, working to get our new downtown baseball stadium to come to fruition. Dan's Bio:

Originally from Baltimore County Maryland, Dan Spedden is a graduate of the University of Maine’s Natural Resource Management program. Dan is the retired State Park Superintendent for the South Mountain Recreation Area, a cluster of four State Parks and a State Battlefield on the border of Frederick and Washington Counties. Dan was a law enforcement ranger who retired at the rank of Captain in October 2013. Dan is currently the President of the Hagerstown/Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a 501 C6 corporation with a mission to improve the economy of the community through the promotion and development of travel and tourism. He has been appointed to the Governor’s State Tourism Development Board and the Maryland Heritage Area Authority Board of Directors. Dan resides in Hagerstown with his wife Janette.

GenNext was created to benefit young professionals from the ages of 21 to 39. The group meets for professional development events, networking, volunteer initiatives, casual group outings, and more. Events are specifically structured to help young professionals advance in their communication, networking, and leadership skills. In addition, we strive for GenNext members to become advocates through community involvement in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
