GenNext: Emerging Leaders Conversation with Julie Rohm, General Manager of Valley Mall

Julie Rohm is the dynamic leader of the Valley Mall, and has been the force growing the mall despite the challenges of increased online shopping. Julie serves on several boards that share the same community vision, growth and focus in Washington County. She also was asked to manage Frederick’s FSK Mall in 2021 and is strategizing to enhance that mall. Since late 2018, the Valley Mall added a new to market Belk department store, expanded and relocated the areas sporting goods store, added a state of the art family fitness center, added a 50,000 sq. foot indoor entertainment venue, four additional restaurants, filled the food court with fast options, and completed a multimillion dollar remodel of the 16-screen mega plex theater.

This group was created to benefit young professionals from the ages of 21 to 39. The group meets for professional development events, networking, volunteer initiatives, casual group outings, and more. Events are specifically structured to help young professionals advance in their communication, networking, and leadership skills. In addition, we strive for GenNext members to become advocates through community involvement in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
