GenNext: Volunteering at Children in Need!

Description


We are spending an evening assisting Children in Need with their clothes sorting and hanging of donations in their warehouse. This helps Children in Need effectively and efficiently serve their clients. With lots of clothing donations for children in our community, and a growing client base, Children in Need is always busy. They also received the 2024 Nonprofit of the Year Award!


About Children in Need: Children In Need, Inc. strives to keep children in school through graduation and create a positive sense of belonging.  Founded in 1998, Children in Need is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization which serves more than 2,000 families annually in Washington County, Maryland. Every economically disadvantaged Washington County child in need of support is eligible for services from Children in Need. On behalf of their children, clients are eligible to visit the center once per month to receive clothing, hygiene items and school supplies, including books.


GenNext was created to benefit young professionals from the ages of 21 to 39. The group meets for professional development events, networking, volunteer initiatives, casual group outings, and more. Events are specifically structured to help young professionals advance in their communication, networking, and leadership skills. In addition, we strive for GenNext members to become advocates through community involvement in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
